Cute Garden Amigurumi Bowl - Mushroom Mushroom
Button Mushroom pals... little (well, pretty good size, really) friends who hide down in the bowl and surprise the recipient when they are found. A perfect addition to our Garden Amigurumi Bowl today!
I was totally going to go off the rails and make these mushroom pals more psychedelic than realistic and decided that I will stick to the theme. And tell you, instead... if you use a bright colored variegated yarn for the tops and stem of this cute little guy you move him closer to Wonderland than to the garden. Or into a fairy garden.
Supplies
Worsted weight yarn in a light tan or white and in a light brown - I used Fair Isle Yarn Liberty in Cloud and Walnut
4.5mm crochet hook
polyfil or doll stuffing
yarn or darning needle
safety eyes - I used 6mm
scissors
stitch marker
Abbreviations
SC = Single Crochet
BLO = Back Loop Only - when you look down from the top of a crochet stitch it forms a V, Back Loop Only picks up only the back of this V when crocheting. It is used in this pattern as a method to turn a corner and make an edge, so that the bottom of the mushroom top and bottom of the stem are flat.
INC = Increase
DEC = Decrease
MR = Magic Ring
F/O = Finish Off
Notes
I carried my lighter color forward and didn't cut it when I changed color to do the bottom of the cap, see photos below.
This is a super simple little doll, very small. I recommend taking your time and being creative. You can change his colors to dress him up a little... or make a few of them so that you have a bunch of mushrooms. Have fun!
